The Leadership Coaching Group

Oct 9, 2017

Do you know how to really set goals? That is, setting a trajectory of meaning and substance for your life and planning an execution for that trajectory? Richard Rieckenberg is back to teach about the most common problem he sees when coaching executives on goal setting. Richard teaches that most people don’t understand what differentiates a goal from a metric and therefore…they don’t really set goals.  Listen in to hear more!

Here are some thinking points from today’s episode:

  • Goal setting can be very difficult – people often confuse the means to a greater purpose as an actual goal.
  • Goals are related to the major specific accomplishments you want to achieve in life
  • Richard argues that in the absence of goals we risk becoming depressed or hedonistic.
