effort

There was a recent article in the news that said a public high school in the United States chose to award 9 students the title of valedictorian. This wasn’t because there was a 9-way tie. Instead, they thought they would offer the honor to more students. The only student that actually earned the title of valedictorian threatened legal action against the school for unfair treatment. Reading this story, TLCG’s subject matter expert on leadership, Richard Rieckenberg, questioned what the latest cultural perspective on effort and reward really is now. Liz Howard and Richard explore this topic on today’s episode.
